Brighton: Died peacefully on November 24, 2008. He is predeceased by his wife, Marion; son, Robert and grandson, Andrew. He is survived by sons, David (Mary Jane) and Alan Kates, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Philip was the founder and for many years President of Theatre Confections, Inc. which is now run by his son Alan.
Funeral Services will be held 11AM on Wednesday, November 26th in the Benjamin Goldstein Chapel at Temple B’rith Kodesh, 2131 Elmwood Ave., Brighton. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to U of R School of Medicine, Robert Kates Scholarship Award, 300 E. River Rd., Box 278996, Rochester 14627-8996. The family will receive friends at the Summit at Brighton, 2000 Summit Circle Dr. on Wednesday from 1 to 3 PM.
