Brighton: December 18, 2008. Predeceased by parents, Solomon and Anna Kaplan and sister, Ada Kwiat. Survived by wife, Gloria; son, Stuart; daughter, Dr. Brenda Kaplan (Elliott Melnick); grandchildren, Anna Melnick and Philip Melnick; aunt, Shirley Schnidman; nieces; cousins and friends. Benjamin was a graduate of the Univ. of Buffalo. He served as a Pharmacist in the World War II effort and was proprietor of Broadway Drugs and Stuart Pharmacy for 36 years.
Graveside services will be held at 12PM on Friday, December 19th at Britton Road Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions preferred to Congregation Beth Sholom or charity of donor’s choice. Shiva will be observed at 888 Hillside Ave., Brighton from Saturday evening – Thursday.

I remember going to Cousin Ben's Drug Store as a little girl with my father whenever we had a prescription to be filled. I also recall taking the city bus (Park to Struckmar) to visit Stuart and Brenda when they were very, very young. I am so sorry to hear Ben is no longer with us--he's the one cousin who had memories of the Schnidman family, and he will be missed.
