My sympathy to the family of Sidney Bloom. I was an Eastman School of Music student, living in the Prince Street dormitory during the late 1950s, and I fondly remember Sid and Rosalie Bloom and their wonderful Penguin Restaurant which Eastman students frequently patronized. I am currently an Eastman School faculty member and also the school historian. The forthcoming second volume of the school's history includes mention of Sid and Rosalie and their restaurant. The place was so much a part of the undergraduate experience at the school in those days.
